Canada 150 / National Historic District Tour

June 26, 2017 @ 2:00 pm

Celebrate Canada 150 with a fun-filled journey along one of North America’s oldest thoroughfares with renowned heritage interpreter, Alan Melanson. Explore Annapolis Royal, one of Canada’s oldest settlements, and its scenic National Historic District, one of the largest in the country. From being one of the most fought-over tracts of land in the colonization of North America to winning the “World’s Most Liveable Small Community” Award, Annapolis Royal is a town with an epic saga to relate. Cultures and events have intertwined to form a colourful mosaic unparalleled in Canada. The National Historic District Tour brings over 400 years to life and is an excellent visitor orientation to this unique region — showcasing both past and present. Discover the many “firsts” the area holds in Canadian history. Get the inside stories behind the national historic sites, colourful characters and landmark buildings. Learn about modern-day attractions and special events. This award-winning tour, sponsored by The Historical Association of Annapolis Royal, helps maintain and preserve the Annapolis Royal Lighthouse.
