SUMMARY:King's Theatre: Aquakulture Presents - 1783 Live
DESCRIPTION:AQUAKULTRE PRESENTS: 1783 LIVE \nAquakultre is the artistic voice of Lance Sampson — soul singer and storyteller from Halifax\, Nova Scotia. This show features original music and stories that celebrate African Nova Scotia history and culture.  \nLance’s third full-length Aquakultre release\, 1783\, was released worldwide on February 6\, 2026 via Next Door Records. The title refers to the year when over 3000 people of African descent boarded 81 ships and sailed out of New York. These were the so-called Black Loyalists: some of them free people\, many of them still enslaved\, who fought for the British in exchange for the promise of land and freedom. Arriving in Nova Scotia\, they were given the poorest housing\, little food\, few supplies. Yet they survived and went on to found Black settlements across the province. Descended directly from those first settlers\, Aquakultre has created a profound concept album that is deeply rooted in his own rich family history. \nAquakultre Presents: 1783 Live features a full\, nine-piece band (guitar\, keyboards\, drums\, bass\, and multiple vocals) performing music from the album. The production will include bespoke wardrobe\, backdrop and projections\, set pieces\, and lighting design. More than just a concert\, this event is designed with community-building goals as a priority. Foremost\, Aquakultre means to bring Black audiences into arts presentation spaces with music and storytelling that speaks directly to them\, in venues that enact their commitment to inclusivity and the wellbeing of diverse audiences. Aquakultre also means to help bring in and acclimatize audiences of all ages and backgrounds to Black Nova Scotian artistry and storytelling in a way that is authentic and truthful in the message\, joyful and celebratory in the vibe. \nAudiences will come away with full hearts\, and a new understanding and appreciation of the contributions Black Nova Scotians have made and continue to make to our shared history.

SUMMARY:King's Theatre: The Final Recordings Of An Almost Extinct Bird
DESCRIPTION:“Final Recordings” is where TEDTalk\, sob story\, and cottagecore collide. \nFred has a lot on his mind. The origins of the universe\, for starters. The fabric of space-time\, too. The formation of the Earth\, plate tectonics\, the fossil record\, gravitational waves\, dark matter\, winding valley roads\, campfires\, pottery cafes—the list goes on and on. There’s also the matter of the giant salty egg\, the man in the comfy blue chair\, and the burning question: “Is this good? What I’m doing? With my time?” \nRuntime: 90 minutes\, no intermission. \n\nZuppa: Based in Kjipuktuk / Halifax\, we aim to make extraordinary experiences that provoke the consideration of new perspectives and ideas and thrive on the play between the imagined and the real. With each project we attempt to do something we don’t know how to do and work with collaborators who bring new life experiences or skill sets to the table. We make shows for Halifax and for places far away\, with the support of The Canada Council for the Arts\, Arts Nova Scotia\, and The Nova Scotia Department of Communities\, Culture\, Tourism and Heritage\, and Halifax Culture and Community. Zuppa is a member of Theatre Nova Scotia and an affiliate member of the Professional Association of Canadian Theatres.

SUMMARY:King's Theatre: Jackson-Wilson Quartet
DESCRIPTION:Jackson/Wilson Quartet is the combined forces of Juno Award winning trombonist Andrew Jackson\, and Four time Music Nova Scotia award- winning guitarist Sam Wilson. Together they have been exploring the interplay of trombone and guitar\, honing their musical chemistry since 2014.\n\nAt the time of their meeting\, both musicians were searching for a setting to explore jazz in a less traditional format\, and they quickly realized they were on a similar musical discovery. Over the past decade\, this has led them to develop a common musical language\, creating an original sound that is contemporary\, thoughtful\, and fresh. Their 2023 album “New Doors” received critical acclaim\, and since the release\, the two have had the opportunity to tour across the country.\n\nJoined by bassist Gabriella Ciurcovich\, and drummer Caito MacDonald\, audiences can expect a wide variety of sounds\, from original music\, jazz classics\, and familiar pop hits.

DESCRIPTION:Join Kim and Terra for a celebration of new friendships\, old souls\, favourite songs\, and irrepressible laughs. \nAn off-the-cuff invitation in a Charlottetown hotel bar\, a shared stage in a Canso rink\, and a mutual love for questionable jokes…award-winning performers Kim Dunn and Terra Spencer paired up for a run of intimate shows off the beaten path. Following the rave reception from that tour and the easy friendship that quickly grew\, they are bringing the Backroads to the main stage. \nTERRA SPENCER: Raised on the mud banks of the Avon River\, award-winning Nova Scotian funeral director-turned-songwriter Terra Spencer charms audiences with her deft guitar\, gospel piano\, butterscotch voice\, crackling wit\, and wood-paneled warmth. SUMMARY:King's Theatre: David Fancey
DESCRIPTION:One of Canada’s outstanding poets\, songwriters\, storytellers returns to King’s Theatre with his trio. \nDavid Francey is a Scottish-born Canadian carpenter-turned-songwriter\, who has become known as “one of Canada’s most revered folk poets and singers” (Toronto Star). Born in Ayrshire\, Scotland to parents who were factory workers\, he moved to Canada when he was twelve. For decades\, he worked across Canada in rail yards\, construction sites\, and in the Yukon bush\, all the while writing poetry\, setting it to melodies in his head and singing it to himself as he worked. \n“Francey’s clear\, simple songs speak volumes to his followers. After a decade in music\, David Francey is known as one of Canada’s finest tunesmiths and a champion of the Everyman\, admired for his less-is-more approach to writing. It’s amazing how he manages to address deep stuff with such spare ingredients.” — The Edmonton Journal

SUMMARY:King's Theatre: The Rocky Horror Picture Show - Live!
DESCRIPTION:After a sold out run in Wolfville in the Fall of 2025\, this high energy\, vaudville-style\, gender-bending production comes to the King’s Theatre stage on Halloween night\, featuring a dozen actors and a live band. \n“Audiences are going to fall in love with the chaos\, the camp\, the music—and hopefully themselves a little\, too\,” says Linda Levy Fisk\, Co-Director. \nPremiering 50 years after the 1975 film\, this live-stage rock-musical production honours the original’s defiant spirit. Rocky Horror broke taboos around gender\, sexuality\, and performance—becoming a cult refuge for outsiders and queer communities for generations. Now\, in rural Nova Scotia\, queer culture continues to evolve and invite everyone to participate\, in direct opposition to growing global tensions\, making this production more vital than ever. \nThis rendition of THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW marks the largest live production of the show in the Annapolis Valley’s history. Produced by Jeremy Banks\, with an incredible team of talented actors and musicians on stage\, and a great backstage team. \n“The first time I saw Rocky Horror was in third year university\, when I was identifying very differently than who I am today. Being a member of this cast\, performing in the town (Wolfville) I found myself in\, is a wholesome full circle moment that I’m incredibly excited about”\, says performer Adrien Lewis. \n“This isn’t just a musical\,” says producer Jeremy Banks. “It’s a celebration of difference and a challenge to the norm. In our version\, we’re breaking audience expectations even more than the original—featuring a trans performer in a lead role\, gender-bending casting\, and a renewed focus on joy\, risk\, and transformation. It’s everything Rocky Horror should be— absolutely unforgettable.”

SUMMARY:King's Theatre: RIDGE - performed by The Fugitives
DESCRIPTION:RIDGE\, by Brendan McLeod\, performed by The Fugitives \nOften called the “battle that made Canada\,” Vimy Ridge resulted in over 10\,000 Canadian casualties. Through direct storytelling\, verbatim theatre\, and live music\, Brendan McLeod examines misconceptions and varying perspectives around the battle\, while drawing parallels to other formative events in our nation’s past. Featuring inventive musical interpretations of WWI soldier songs\, Ridge probes difficult yet necessary questions about how and why we grieve. A vivid\, kinetic ride through history\, as well as an intimate\, personal examination of our connection to the past\, Ridge is a visceral work that passionately argues against the exploitation of young lives. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n“In my life\, I have never seen a piece of theatre that addresses the realities of war in a way that seems so clear-eyed to me. So I am deeply grateful to Ridge. There’s sorrow and anger in this show\, but also beauty\, relief\, and genuine honour in its honesty.” — Colin Thomas\, Fresh Sheet\n“Serves to give the sacrifices of those who served and died a human dimension beyond mythology.” — Vancouver Sun\n“A more sensitive\, thoughtful\, deeply personal look at what really went on at Vimy is hard to imagine. ” — Jo Ledingham\, On the Scene\n“Riveting…The way history was meant to be told.” — Entertainment Vancouver\n\nTHE FUGITIVES: A Canadian folk staple\, The Fugitives were formed in 2005 and are releasing their 7th album in 2026. They’ve been nominated for a JUNO\, as well as 7 Canadian Folk Music Awards\, including Best Vocal Group\, Best Ensemble\, and Best Songwriter. Having toured heavily across Canada\, the UK\, and the EU for two decades\, they’ve been awarded the Best Folk Album of the Year by the German Music Critics’ Association\, performed at Glastonbury\, and most major folk festivals across Canada. They’ve also branched out into theatre with their show\, Ridge\, which was a 2020 Globe & Mail “Top Arts Pick of the Year” and has toured to 50 theatres across Canada. They have earned a reputation for unforgettable live shows\, brimming with complex harmonies\, infectious storytelling and top-notch musicianship. \n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTICKETS ARE FREE:  Donations Welcome! \nThank to the Department of Veterans Affairs for helping to support this very special event. \n***These tickets are being offered for free\, but are very valuable. Canadian music reviewer Bob Mersereau said\, “I always make a point of listening to many new Christmas albums each year\, and this is one of the best I’ve heard in years\, and certainly one of the premiere sets of new tunes in a long time!” The title song “Christmas Day On Planet Earth” and its accompanying video is even fast becoming a holiday standard. \nLennie’s band includes his partner\, Acadian star Patricia Richard\, plus PEI musical phenom Keelin Wedge\, piano marvel Julien Robichaud\, and special guests.
