Volunteers Wanted – Accessibility Advisory Committee



The Town of Annapolis Royal is looking for residents interested in volunteering to serve as part of the Accessibility Advisory Committee. Accessibility Advisory Committee. Fifty percent (50%) of the members must be persons with disabilities or represent organizations that represent persons with disabilities, in accordance with the Act.


What does it involve?

The Accessibility Advisory Committee (AAC) provides advice to Council on identifying, preventing and eliminating barriers to people with disabilities in municipal programs, services, initiatives and facilities. The Committee will play a pivotal role in helping the Town of Annapolis Royal to become a barrier-free community and ensuring obligations under An Act respecting Accessibility in Nova Scotia are met.

Appointments to the Accessibility Advisory Committee (AAC) are for a one-year term ending December 31, 2020. Annapolis Royal Town Council will ensure, whenever possible, that appointments reflect the diversity of the community. Applications will remain on file and be considered for vacancies that may occur through the 2020 calendar year.
