Meet the Chief! (Oqwa’titek Amphitheatre)

Annapolis Royal residents are invited to come and meet Elizabeth (Liz) Montgomery the new Chief of the Annapolis Royal Police Service.  Liz Montgomery was born and raised in the Annapolis Valley.

She is a seasoned investigator, spanning 30 years of law enforcement experience, with over 10 years specializing in sexual assault investigations, child exploitation, threat and risk assessment, and high-risk offender management. As the lead of the threat assessment section, the majority of Liz’s casework related to assessing and analyzing threat and risk in intimate partner and gender-based violence investigations. She is qualified in advanced threat assessment for intimate partner violence, stalking, general violence, sexual violence, and school threat assessment. Liz was recognized for her exceptional investigative skills by the Ambassador of the United States and the Department of Homeland Security for linking a high-profile child exploitation case to a known sexual offender, who was subsequently brought to justice and convicted. Liz was also very involved with the Mass Casualty Commission serving as the Team Lead, Investigations.

Liz has been on duty since June 22, and you may have already seen her around town! Please join the Town of Annapolis Royal for some light refreshments and say hello to the new Chief!
