Concert: Catherine MacLellan

April 13, 2019 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Juno-Award winner Catherine MacLellan, one of Canada’s finest and favourite singer-songwriters, brings her theatrical show If It’s Alright With You, a tribute to her father, Gene MacLellan.

The show celebrates the legacy of her late father Gene MacLellan, one of the country’s most famous songwriters. Nearly 50 years ago wrote the world-wide, multi-million selling smash hits “Snowbird” and “Put Your Hand in the Hand”. From his Prince Edward Island home he penned songs that Anne Murray, Elvis Presley, Loretta Lynn, Chet Atkins, Joan Baez and Ocean turned into worldwide chart-toppers and repertoire standards. These songs propelled him to fame , and remain the gold standard for Canadian songwriting.

Catherine MacLellan’s show If It’s Alright With You is filled with stories from her father’s life, from surprising revelations to intimate descriptions of their time together. It will feature the familiar hits, as well as lesser-known and even unreleased songs she’s discovered in her family archives. “I want to share my dad’s music and it’s also an opportunity for me to get to know him better. The more I get to know his songs, the closer I feel to him” she said.
