Fort Anne: Commemorating the Great Upheaval

On December 8, 1755, 1664 Acadians were deported from Annapolis Royal.
The “Association des Familles Acadiennes de Port-Royal” will be holding a walk at Fort Anne National Historic Site on December 8, 2026, to observe a moment of silence in remembrance of this tragic event.
The walk will begin at 1:30 pm at the Odyssey Monument at Fort Anne and proceed to the end of the Queen’s Wharf.
