Buying, Selling or Renting

You are responsible for the following when purchasing property in the Town of Annapolis Royal:

• Property taxes: Your lawyer must request a tax certificate to determing any liens against the property. The cost of a tax certificate is $30.00
• Water Services: You must apply and submit a Water Service Contract to setup a new water account with the Town.
• Zoning & Permits: Review the Land Use By-laws to confirm your intended use (residential, commerial or renovations) is permitted.

You are responsible for the following when selling property in the Town of Annapolis Royal

• Closing Date: Advise the Town of Annapolis Royal of the closing date
• Property Taxes: Ensure all current property taxes are paid in full
• Water Reading: Contact the Town of Annapolis Royal to schedule a final water reading
• Forwarding Address: Provide a forwarding address to the Town of Annapolis Royal for final invoices

MOVING IN

If you are a tenant moving into a property within the Town of Annapolis Royal, your landlord must:

• Water Services: Submit a Water Service Contract to setup a new water account with the Town.
• Moving Date: Advise the Town of the move-in date

MOVING OUT

If you are tenant moving out of a property within the Town of Annapolis Royal, you (or your landlord) must:

• Moving Date: Advise the Town of the move out date
• Forwarding Address: Provide a forwarding address to the Town of Annapolis Royal for the final water bill
