VALLEY WASTE RESOURCE MANGEMENT (VWRM)
Valley Waste Resource Management (VWRM) is responsible for waste collection in Annapolis Royal. Garbage, recyclables, and compost are collected every second Friday with collection starting at 7am.
All waste must be sorted appropriately.
A handy Valley Waste calendar which contains waste management information can be picked up at Town Hall or Downloaded from VWRM website.

Hazardous Waste & Batteries
In an effort to keep hazardous chemicals out of our landfills the Nova Scotia government has banned electronics and batteries from regular garbage. Instead, electronics (recyclable) and batteries need to be dropped off depots across the province.

leaf & Yard Waste
The Town offers a Leaf and Yard Waste drop-off for residents only, located adjacent to Public Works, 144 Victoria Street (past the Public Works driveway through the gravel parking lot, and around to the left). There are restrictions/conditions on depositing items at the site. Residents are encouraged to read the Town policy available here.
The drop-off site is open from April 1st to December 15th, 7 days a week from 9:00am to 3:00pm. While this service is offered, residents are encouraged to utilize Valley Waste’s yard waste services.
