The Public Works Department is responsible for maintaining roads, water services, and other infrastructure. They operate from 7:00am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday. water & WasteWater
All properties in Annapolis Royal must be connected to municipal water and wastewater systems. These systems are maintained and monitored by Public Works, including frequent water quality testing. If a property owner intends to dig deeper than 0.3 metres (~1 foot) Public Works should be contacted to locate services (this service is free). New connections (related to new construction) are at the property owner’s expense and must be conducted in consultation with Public Works.

roads and Sidewalks
Roads and sidewalks within the Town of Annapolis Royal are maintained by the Public Works Department. This includes routine maintenance, repairs, and seasonal services such as snow and ice control.
Snow clearing
The Town of Annapolis Royal provides snow-clearing services to help keep streets and sidewalks safe and accessible during the winter months. Plowing and snow removal are carried out based on weather conditions, snowfall amounts, and priority routes. Residents are asked to avoid parking on streets during snow events and to keep sidewalks clear in accordance with Town bylaws. Updates and advisories will be shared as needed during significant weather events. Refer to the Snow and Ice Control Policy for more information.
winter parking ban
The winter parking ban is in effect from the first snowfall or on December 1 (whichever comes first) through April 30.
During this period, no person may park or leave a vehicle on any street or highway within town limits from 1:00am to 7:00am, and in a way that interferes with snow removal or winter maintenance. Vehicles that inhibit snow-clearing operations may be ticketed and/or towed at the owner’s expense. The Winter Parking Ban is enacted through the Motor Vehicle Act.
