CAO Sandi Millett-Campbell will be leaving the Town of Annapolis Royal to take up a new position that will be announced in the near future. We extend our sincere congratulations to Sandi on her appointment to this important role, which will draw on her exceptional skills, knowledge, and experience. We are very happy for her and also very sad to see her go.
Sandi has served the Town for over twenty-two years, in various roles, most recently as CAO since February 18, 2020, Over the years, she worked successfully in several departments including Finance and Planning and Development which allowed her to acquire knowledge, skills and experience that served her well as CAO. Sandi has led our talented team of staff in achieving important milestones and delivering major community events, including the Canada 150 celebrations and the visit of the Tall Ships. Her strategic approach has helped reduce the Town’s level of risk through the diversification of revenues and growth in the Town’s residential and commercial tax base. The hard work and persistence of our staff, under Sandi’s leadership, enabled the Town to secure a remarkable number of grants from federal and provincial governments, not-for-profit organizations, and the private sector. This success has been the envy of several larger municipalities.
Sandi is also leaving us with a complete set of up-to-date by-laws, policies and procedures and a preliminary updated draft strategic plan that is in the process of public consultation. Together, these are essential to the smooth functioning of the Town and to planning for our future.
Sandi will be with us until November 12, 2026.The recruitment process for her replacement will begin shortly. Council and staff are taking every step to ensure we can quickly recruit a high-quality candidate and that the Town continues to run smoothly throughout this significant transition. We will share updates as progress is made.
