Ride Along Program.

Are you looking to complete a ride along with the Annapolis Royal Police Service.  please complete the form below or come to the town office to collect a hardcopy for submission.
Once completed they must be sent to the Police service for processing along with any applicable supporting documentation.

Please note this is more aimed at those enquiring about a career in policing or those interested in joining the Annapolis Royal Police Service.

All other requests are at the discretion of the Chief of Police.

Vacation Home Security Program .

Home security is a basic component of crime prevention. When residents are on vacation, their homes can become a target for burglars. Although there is no guarantee against break-ins, the Annapolis Royal Police Department offers free home security checks to residents to reduce their chances of victimization.
Also note this does not replace personal home security ,we encourage everyone to ensure their home is safe and secure before leaving
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE ARPD ACCEPTS NO LIABILITY FOR DAMAGE OR LOSS OF PROPERTY WHEN USING THIS SERVICE.

Police officers will conduct a perimeter check of your home while you are on vacation to ensure there are no signs of attempted or successful forced entry into your home.

To request a free vacation home security check, use the form below and submit to our email above 7 days before travel. Once submitted we shall acknowledge receipt within 3 workings days of receiving the form. By submission of the form you are accepting the Annapolis Royal Police and Town of Annapolis Royal  do not assume any liability  for any loss or damage to property during the specified dates. Homeowners must ensure all insurance requirement needs are met during any absences.

Business Security Contact Form .

In order to serve our business owners in town better , we have created a business security contact form. This form gives police who may attend a business after hours for example-: an alarm or insecure door to have the contact details of who to call in such an event. This allows us to deal with the matter quicker and more importantly provide a better service to our business community.  This form can be updated as many times as business needs and contact persons change,

Apply to access information under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIPOP) Act (Form 1)

You can apply to access information under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIPOP) Act. The information needs to be held by a government department or a public sector body that Information Access and Privacy Services supports.

Exempt from Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy requests

If you request administrative or general records, some of the information may be held back. In these cases, the information is exempt from being released under the law.

Exemptions include:

  • cabinet records
  • certain pieces of law enforcement information
  • records that can prejudice intergovernmental relations
  • records or information that includes recommendations or advice
  • personal information that could invade the privacy of an individual
  • certain records supplied in confidence by a third party
  • most labour relations records
  • privileged legal advice
  • confidential business information

How long it takes

It should take 2 to 5 days to hear back that your request has been received. The police department will let you know how long your request should take to complete. It can take longer if more information is needed or if your form hasn’t been filled in correctly.

Government departments and public sector bodies have 30 days to respond to your request for records. They can extend it up to 60 days if you’ve requested a large number of records or if they need to consult with third parties.

Cost

There’s no cost if you request information about yourself.

It’s $5 if you request information that’s not about yourself.

There may be an additional cost if you request a large number of records or if the department or public sector body needs to consult with third parties.
