Waste Management

Valley Waste Resource Management is responsible for waste collection in Annapolis Royal. Garbage, recyclables, and compost are collected every second Tuesday. All waste must be sorted appropriately. For complete details and sorting instructions, please see their website www.vwrm.com. All waste inquiries can be directed to Valley Waste at 1-877-927-8300 or info@vwrm.com.

In an effort to keep hazardous chemicals out of our landfills the Nova Scotia government has banned electronics and batteries from regular garbage. Instead electronics (recyclable) and batteries need to be dropped off depots across the province. The closest location to Annapolis Royal is the Lawrencetown Western Management Centre, 343 Elliott Road, 1–877–927–8300.

A handy Valley Waste calendar which contains waste management information can be picked up at Town Hall.

The Town offers a Leaf and Yard Waste drop-off for residents only, located at Public Works, 144 Victoria Street.  The drop-off site is 7 days a week from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. While this service is offered, residents are encouraged to utilize Valley Waste’s yard waste services.
